RM of Round Hill’s story
The Rural Municipality of Round Hill No. 467 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 11, 1911. It lies in Census Division No. 16 and SARM Division No. 6, and its office is in the village of Rabbit Lake, the one village surrounded by the RM.
Besides Rabbit Lake, a number of small localities are scattered across the municipality: Bournemouth, Hatherleigh, Hillside, Iffley, Redfield, Molewood, Sandwith, Square Hill and Whitkow. A Canadian Pacific Railway line once ran through the area, though it has since been abandoned.
Today the RM is known for Scentgrass Lake and the Scent Grass Lake National Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Its council meets on the second Friday of every month.
